Eilat is a fun resort town on the southern tip of Israel, with Jordan as its neighbor on one side and Egypt on the other. With a range of Eilat hotels from basic to 5 class luxury, it has long been a favorite for Israelis as well as for tourists from all over the world, to go and relax. The renowned clear waters of the Red Sea is one of the best diving areas in the world and there are a whole host of other activities from just chilling out on the beach and enjoying the nightlife, through to swimming with dolphins after a camel trek! Traveling down to Eilat is easy on the public bus system or you can even fly to Eilat (right over the Dead Sea!) - details of buses are on the reservation form and flights are listed below.

Details of day tour to Petra, Jordan You can choose which day you want to visit Jordan as the 1 day tour runs 7 days a week. You will drive through the Jordanian desert, enjoy a short city tour of Aqaba, and then explore this legendary city spread over 19 square km.
Tour Details:
- Leave Eilat, Israel in the morning, cross the Arava border and drive to Petra, through the scenic Jordanian desert, past the Wadi Rum area, where Lawrence of Arabia once lived and fought with the Bedouin.
- Arrive at Petra.
- Enter the Rose City of Petra through the Siq, a narrow passage through the mountains which has inspired awe for centuries - up to the treasury which suddenly appears at the end of the gorge, leaving the visitors breath taken by its size, color and beauty.
- Continue into the heart of this ancient city carved into the mountains, passing hundreds of tombs and monuments and a spectacular amphitheatre which once held 3,000 spectators.
- After our visit to Petra, stop for a sit-down lunch, followed by a visit to Moses Spring before leaving Wadi Moussa (the new town of Petra).
- Drive to Aqaba for a short city tour, return to the Arava border and back to Eilat.
General Information for trips to Jordan
Participants should be on time and ready to go at their exact pick-up time:
- You should have passports & cash for the border fees with you and have eaten breakfast and
be ready to leave on time!
- The passport control on both borders can take from 30min to 1.5hrs.
- You can use dollars, Euros and even shekels in Jordan, but only bills, not coins. You are better exchanging money in Eilat to the local currency - the Dinar.
- Every person holding an Israeli passport MUST use the Israeli passport to cross the border.
- Your English-speaking guide will be waiting for you on the Jordanian side of the border.
- The drive to Petra takes approximately 2 hours.
IMPORTANT
- The $35/person for borders fees & tip for Jordanian guide are not included in the price of
the tour (this should be paid directly to your Israeli operator at the border).
- The lunch at Petra is included, but drinks are not.
- The horse ride at the entrance to Petra is included, but not the private carriage. If you
would like to reserve the carriage, your guide will do it on the spot.
Please do NOT reserve until you have confirmation that you have a seat on a trip and until you have extended your trip to cover the dates you want to stay on, or are flexible enough to stay on extra if there is no flight availability.

Flights - only $110 one way!
Flying down to Eilat is a short flight (about 45 mins) and the flights are frequent throughout the day between Sde Dov airport in Tel Aviv and Eilat. The airport in Eilat is close to the center of town and the hotel areas. Flying during daylight hours can offer you stunning views of the Dead Sea from above (make sure that you have a camera handy!). Flying is possible from Ben Gurion Airport too, although these are much less frequent.
