Vision Statement of IsraelExperts for Taglit-Birthright Israel trips
The vision and concept of the educational tour is grounded in IsraelExperts' fundamental belief of a pluralistic, liberal, non-denominational program that is delivered with experiential design. The Israel Experience is conceived as a "time tunnel" journey through time, covering the history of Israel and the centrality of Israel to the Jewish People, since Biblical times, and through to contemporary times.

The program is designed as an introductory level program. One of the central issues is that which concerns staffing. Our vision is one where the guide/educator and the other educators from North America are able to inspire participants to excel and to challenge themselves as individuals and as members of their community towards making the most out of what may be a one-off educational experience. Additionally, much thought and deliberation has been given to the preparation of an experiential program. The approach is one that places the participants squarely in the focus of the program, with dialogue, discussion, deliberation and debate as central thematic moments throughout. IsraelExperts aims to recruit participants deemed unaffiliated as the central focus for recruitment.

Our goal is to reach out to young adults interested in an in-depth, serious educational experience. Maximization of time is critical to our vision and the staff are trained to program day and night towards achieving that vision.

Joe Perlov - Managing Director
With over 25 years of experience in informal Jewish education and Israel travel programs, Joe is sought out as an expert facilitator and designer of group, youth and community initiatives in Israel and abroad.

Steve Jaffe - Director of Operations
A recognized leader in Israel travel industry, Steve has worked in all spheres of travel and served as the Director of Operations of Israel's leading tour operator for ten years before joining IsraelExperts

Bill Frankel M.Ed. - Program Director
Having recently immigrated to Israel, Bill holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and has over two decades experience in informal education and development of leadership programs. Bill has been the director of residential camps, a university Dean of Students, and a producer of major educational events.

Rabbi Saul Grife - Jewish Educator
A graduate of Yeshiva University, the Jewish Theological Seminary and of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. Rabbi Saul has been involved with IsraelExperts as a senior educator since 1999 and brings a dynamic informal educational style. This, combined with his passion for music, Judaism and educating young adults makes his presence a memorable addition to any educational program.

Steve Burnstein - Director, Center for Israel and Diaspora Education
Steve served as the Israel Consultant at the Auerbach CAJE in Philadelphia during his Rabbinic studies at RRC. He coordinated Professional Development for Philadelphia's MAKOM Project (North American Coalition for Israel Engagement). Steve has an MA in Jewish Ed. from JTS. He served as Director of Education at Cong. Beth Torah in Kansas City and for many years was the Associate Director of the Pinat Shorashim Seminar Center at Kibbutz Gezer.

Gillian Ben Harosh - Tour Coordinator
Gillian is a Hotel Management graduate with over 20 years of experience in the travel and hospitality field. She has worked extensively in Great Britain for the hotel sector and, for the last 12 years, has worked in the Israeli travel sector as a tour specialist for major travel agencies before joining the IsraelExperts team.
