3 Days - Negev Desert, Mitzpe Ramon Crater & Eilat

Day 1 - Thursday 17 July 2008
Late morning departure from Tel Aviv. Travel south through the Negev desert to the resort city of Eilat on the shores of the Red Sea. Stop on route at the Ramon Crater, the largest of the three Negev craters, with geological formations unparalleled elsewhere in the world.
Continue to Eilat and your hotel for the next 2 nights.

Day 2 - Friday 18 July 2008
A free day in Eilat to enjoy the beauty of the Red Sea and surroundings, with opportunity for sunbathing, snorkeling or diving in the magnificent coral filled waters. Swim or dive with wild dolphins, go parachuting or sky-diving or just relax and enjoy the balmy weather. You can view some of the activities HERE.
Optional tour available to Petra in Jordan (at extra cost) as follows:
Pick up early in the morning from your hotel and enter Jordan at the Yitzhak Rabin (Arava) border crossing. After ending all border formalities, we drive up to the “Desert Highway” and then to the “Red Rose City” – Petra. We enter the ancient city through the famous “Siq” – a narrow natural gorge. At once the valley of Petra opens in front of us, and we see the famous “Khazane” (Treasury). We visit the most famous monuments, carved in red sandstone, before heading back to our bus. After a short city tour in Aqaba, we reach the Arava border and return to Eilat.
(Price - USD $150 excluding visa and border taxes, approx USD $35, and tips to horse boys/guide/driver).

Day 3 - Saturday 19 July 2008
Early morning at leisure. Mid morning enjoy snorkeling in the spectacular coral reefs before making your way back to Tel Aviv.
The cost of this tour, based on a minimum of 15 participants is as follows:

Masada & the Dead Sea – operates daily (full day tour)
Today you will learn about Masada and the heroic story of the fighters and you will visit the resort area of the lowest place on earth, the Dead Sea. Depart Tel-Aviv via the Judean Hills to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth; drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. Ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans. Visit the remains of the walls, palaces, the synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors roman bath etc.Descend by cable car.
Travel along the sea and you will have free time to swim and float in the Dead Sea that many believe has its curative effects.

Biblical highlights of the North – Nazareth, Tiberias, Sea of Galilee, Capernaum
Departures: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday (full day tour)
Enjoy a lovely day traveling at the outstanding landscape of the lower Galilee. Depart Tel-Aviv to via the coastal road and the landscape of lower Galilee, to Nazareth, the town where Jesus spent his childhood. Visit the Church of Annunciation and the Church of St. Josef. Continue via Kana, and proceed to Tiberias, the lovely resort town. Drive along Lake Kinneret to visit Capernaum and view the ruins of the ancient synagogue. Continue to Tabgha, site of the Fish and Loaves miracle, located at the foots of the Golan Heights. Continue to Yardenit, the famous site where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee towards the Dead Sea, before returning to point of departure.

Pearls of the Western coast Caesarea, Haifa, Acre & Rosh Hanikra
Departures: Sunday, Tuesday and Friday (full day tour)
Drive along coastal road to Caesarea, the ancient Roman Capital and Port, walking tour of the theatre and archaeological ruins and excavations. Continue to Haifa, scenic view of city, port and Baha’i Gardens. Continue via Nahariya to Rosh Hanikra to visit the limestone Grottos on the border with Lebanon. Return via Acre to visit the Crusader and Turkish Underground City and crypt. Walk through the Old City and oriental market, the Arab Mosque and the Old Port. Return to Tel Aviv.

Transfer from Eilat to the Arava Border. Your Jordanian Guide will meet you at the Jordanian side of the border. First enjoy a city tour in Aqaba and a free time, and then a 2 hour jeep safari in one of the most beautiful deserts in the world! Arrive to camp site at Petra in the afternoon. On day 2, enjoy a full day in Petra including lunch (see tour above for details). Return to the Arava Border crossing and your hotel in the early evening.

“Santa Catherina” from Eilat
1 day tour to Santa Catherina: leave and return to Eilat

After crossing the border to Taba, we drive along the shores of the Red Sea and then through an ever-changing area of bizarre sandstone formations to the Sinai High Mountain Range. Arriving at St. Catherine, we visit the famous St. Catherine’s Monastery, including the Church, dating back to the 6th Century and never destroyed since then. We’ll also visit the sites of “The Burning Bush” and “Jethro\s well”. After lunch, we drive back to Eilat.

Cairo overnight – 2 days tour from Eilat

After crossing the border at Taba drive to Cairo for a full day – visit at the Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the old & famous market Khan el Khalili. Overnight in a 3 star hotel. On day 2 visit Sakkara, Muhammad Ali castle and drive back to Taba border.

General Information for trips to Jordan and Egypt
- You should be ready to go at the exact pick-up time.
- Have passports & cash for the border fees with you,
and eat breakfast before you go!
- Passport control on both borders can take from 30 mins
to 1.5 hrs.
- Borders fees & tip for Jordanian/Egyptian guide are not included in the price (this should be paid directly to your Israeli operator at the border).
- The horse ride at the entrance to Petra is included in the 2 day tour, but not the private carriage. If you would like to reserve the carriage, your guide will do it on the spot.
- You can use dollars, Euros and even shekels in Jordan and Egypt, but only bills, not coins. You are better off exchanging money in Israel to the local currency.
- Every person holding an Israeli passport MUST use the Israeli passport to cross the border.
- Your English-speaking guide will be waiting for you on the other side of the border.
- Tips are not included.
